GOW: Ragnarok Ending Reveals Faye Destroyed the Prophecies in Jotunheim

God of War: Ragnarok has already become one of the best games of the year since its launch on November 9, 2022. Apart from the fantastic visuals, its gameplay and storyline are full of jaw-dropping plot twists.

In particular, the conclusion of this marvellous God of War’s Norse saga becomes exciting and emotional as stories of various characters come to an end, specifically when Angrboda reveals a secret Jotnar shrine to Atreus and Kratos after they defeat Odin, and Surtr lays waste to Asgard.

In God of War: Ragnarok’s ending, the last Jotnar shrine revealed that Faye went against her people to destroy the prophecy of Kratos’ death, so he and Atreus could forge their own destiny.

After taking a look at the mural, Atreus tells Kratos that he now wishes to go and look for other Giants that may be alive somewhere. Kratos allows his son to continue on this path because he believes Atreus is now grown up and can make his own decisions as he did earlier by destroying the mystic mask that Odin desperately wanted.

Atreus and Kratos exchange an emotional father-son moment, and then Atreus leaves on his journey after saying goodbye to Angrboda.

Kratos then finds out that the last Jotnar shrine also has a backside to it representing the entire story of the Ragnarok game, meaning that the Jotunns always considered him to be their Hero, who would rid them of the evil Aesirs. This event concludes the main storyline of God of War: Ragnarok.

Does God of War Ragnarok have multiple endings?

God of War: Ragnarok has multiple endings, two to be exact, but these endings do not depend on the player’s choices. A player can get both endings in the same run.

Players can achieve the first ending by playing through the storyline, defeating both Thor and Odin, and returning to Midgard, but to get the other ending, they must complete a favor (side quest).

How to get the secret ending in God of War: Ragnarok?

The secret ending of God of War: Ragnarok can be achieved by completing the favor (side quest) “A Viking Funeral” given by Lunda.

This favor can be completed by heading to Sverd Sands in Svartalfeim and taking part in Brok’s traditional Viking funeral.

Sindri and Kratos push Brok’s lifeless body on a small boat into the lake, and Freya shoots a fiery arrow onto it to cremate him.

The end credits roll once again when the grief-stricken Sindri disappears into a different dimension after the funeral ends.

Does Sindri forgive Atreus?

Sindri does not forgive Atreus and Kratos for the death of Brok, which can be inferred from the secret ending where he shrugs off Kratos’ hand as he tries to console him.

He later teleports to a different dimension, to which Mimir comments, “A hole gets bigger the more you take away,” referring to the emotional state of the grief-stricken Sindri. He then never shows up again in the game, even if you return to his home in the void between the realms.
