Gran Turismo 7’s Update 1.17 Adds 3 New Cars, Global Circuit & More

Gran Turismo 7’s journey had been a rollercoaster ride initially, but slowly and steadily, Polyphony digital has settled into its post-launch plan of enhancing the game’s car roster, fixing bugs, and adding new features.

Update 1.17, which rolled out on June 23, treads the same path as it enhances the game by adding three new cars, a track with two layout options, and three entirely new menus to Gran Turismo Cafe.

To be specific, the three cars added to Gran Turismo 7 are the Pikes Peak Escudo, Suzuki Vision car, and the 1932 Ford Roadster. While Vision and Roadster are vital additions loved by many, any enthusiast of the game is likely to be eager for Escudo the most.

Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak is precisely the vehicle one needs to make rivals eat dirt. It’s incredibly fast, lightweight, and can let you go past the clutches of physics to dominate any race. Hence, it’s no surprise fans are desperate to take this sweet ride out for a spin.

Now coming to the racetrack, New York’s Watkins Glen has been introduced to Gran Turismo 7 with update 1.17. Also known as “The Glen,” the historic road course that will push you beyond your limits.

The first half of this track includes high-speed sections with mid to high-speed corners, while the latter features tight, technical turn combinations. Owing to its narrow size, the track fosters high-intensity racing battles and also incorporates a couple of surprises in the end, making the course challenging.

Last but not least, update 1.17 also brings forth three new menus in Gran Turismo Cafe:

  • Toyota 86 Collection: Opens at Collector Level 20
  • Honda Type R Collection: Opens at Collector Level 20
  • Rotary Engine Collection: Opens at Collector Level 32

All three of these unlock at high Collector levels; therefore, newbies are required to finish the rest of GT7 Menu Books first.
