Red Dead Redemption Remaster Possible but on One Condition!

Red Dead Redemption 2 is still going strong, especially the Online that recently got some new content.

But many fans have been wondering why Rockstar has not yet announced a remaster for the first Red Dead Redemption, a game many feel is on par, at least story-wise, with the sequel. Well, the remaster may be next in line, but that is based on one condition. That the GTA Trilogy sells well enough.

As was previously reported by Kotaku, a remaster of GTA 3, GTA Vice City, and GTA San Andreas is hitting the shelves later this year and will have a mixture of old and new graphics. This trilogy is also going to be the litmus test for future Rockstar Remasters.

For fans who are more interested in other classic Rockstar games getting remastered and re-released, sources tell me that Rockstar has plans to develop new ports of games like Red Dead Redemption. But the future of these remastered games depends on how well these initial re-releases sell. However, for now, Rockstar is focused on getting these three remastered Grand Theft Auto games out the door alongside the GTA V next-gen ports.

Considering that the creation of future games is based on the sales of the GTA Trilogy pretty much guarantees its release.

GTA is easily one of the most popular gaming franchises right now, and there is little doubt in anyone’s mind that fans will flock to the remasters like flies to honey. And that’s great news for future remasters, especially Red Dead Redemption.

While not as expansive as the sequel, the world and story delivered in the original Western shooter by Rockstar was engaging and felt true to the theme. So, a remaster is sure to get fans’ mouths watering.

The Kotaku report revealed that due to the GTA Trilogy and other planned remaster projects, Red Dead Online has been receiving minor updates over the past few years, as the studio is focused on getting these titles out into the world.

A Red Dead Redemption Remaster has been a topic amongst fans for a while now, given that the sequel acts as a prequel and you end up playing as John by the end of it. So, it makes sense for a modern version of the game to come out, giving people the opportunity to marathon both titles back to back.
