Halo Infinite’s Winter Update Brings Much-Needed Features to the Game

It’s been months since Halo Infinite had a major content drop but the Winter Update is sure to bring a plethora of new content for players to enjoy during the holiday season.

The free Winter Update for Halo Infinite drops on November 8, 2022 for all players. The update will be featuring network campaign co-op to Halo Infinite, an all-new mode, two brand new maps, the Forge open beta, a new battle pass and much more.

Halo Infinite suffered a rough launch in 2021, along with several 343 developers leaving the studio which led to content delays and internal restructuring of the whole company. However, the Winter Update seems very promising and players are excited to try out new things from the update.

A major addition coming to Halo Infinite is the Forge beta, which is a beloved mode for long time Halo players. Players have access to a customizable sandbox and create-a-map mode which they can fill with thousands of objects. The maximum object limit for Halo 5 was 1600 but this time it’s 7000. Players can create their own maps with all the tools available.

Along with that, 343 is also releasing two brand-new maps, Argyle and Detachment, both of which were created in the Forge mode. Detachment will be the first ever map in Halo Infinite to feature a teleporter. A new mode, known as Covert One-Flag, is also being introduced where invisible attacker team can use camo to sneak up on defenders but the defenders can use threat sensors.

Another major addition coming with the update is the network campaign co-op mode for Halo Infinite. Network campaign co-op will place players behind the furthest-behind player in the campaign so that the new player can experience the story in its intended order. With modifiers like Skulls, Fireteams will be able to choose from the total pool of skulls collected by the group. Map limits have been expanded as well so players don’t have to worry about dying while flying off the map.

A new battle pass is also being added to the game with the update. The free battle pass will be of 30 tiers and will feature new and returning cosmetics. Along with that, two major events, Winter Contingency 2 in December and Joint Fire in January, are coming to the game as well. More information will be revealed about the events closer to their launch. Halo Infinite XP is also being reworked so that players can progress smoothly through the battle pass without it feeling like a chore.

With all the new features and events being added to the game, players can’t wait to get their hands on the Winter Update which will release on November 8 and will be free for all players.
