How do you open the safe in the hotel in The Last of Us?

The Last of Us 1 is an action-adventure survival game, but it also requires some minor puzzle-solving abilities to open various safes scattered throughout the map of the single-player campaign if you want to get your hands on some additional valuable supplies.

Finding the codes for the safe in the Hotel Lobby stage of Pittsburgh can be a little tricky. So, here is how you can unlock the safe and get your reward. 

22-10-56 is the code to unlock the safe in the Hotel Lobby in The Last of Us 1.

The safe is located to the right of the room, which can be accessed from behind the reception desk at the very beginning of the chapter.

To find the code combination of the safe, grab the ladder from the construction area located on the left side of the entrance and drag it towards the staircase.

Now, prop the ladder against the broken handrail ledge and climb up.

Make your way to the right side and climb the broken wooden stairs by sticking to the wall. 

Walk straight ahead and pick up Artefact no. 340338, a piece of paper titled “Note to Staff.” This note contains the code for the safe, which is 22-10-56. 

Go back to the safe and unlock it using the code. You will find a training manual that lets you make three stabs with a shiv before it breaks, some ammo, along with 50 parts and ingredients in the safe.
