How long does it take to beat Cyberpunk? Main Story & 100% Completion Time

Cyberpunk 2077 may not have had the best launch but it certainly is getting back on track with a Game of The Year Edition slated to release next year. Despite all the criticisms that the game received at its initial launch, CD Projekt Red has stood by its game and has been making improvements to the game through patches and updates.

The game is in a lot more stable condition now than it was at its initial launch and players are taking their time to explore everything that Night City has to offer. You might be one of the players wanting to jump in the game and wondering how long the game is. If you are, then you’re at the right place.

The main campaign of Cyberpunk 2077 will take you around 25-30 hours to complete. Playing just the main story and some of the side content will take you around 45 hours while a completionist run could take you over 100 hours as you’ll be completing everything the game has to offer.

There are other factors too which can affect your playtime and may significantly increase it too. Playing the game on a harder difficulty may increase your completion time as you might get stuck on a part or a boss fight which you’ve to replay over and over again.

1. Difficulty

All Difficulty Levels in Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk offers four main difficulty levels before starting the game which are:

  • Easy
  • Normal
  • Hard
  • Very Hard

The main differences between the difficulties are the aggression of enemies, strength, and health of your character plus the strength and health of enemies among other things. We recommend starting the game on the normal difficulty but if you upgrade your character enough and the game feels too easy for you, you can easily increase the difficulty later on.

2. How many endings does Cyberpunk 2077 have?

All Ending Options

There are multiple endings in Cyberpunk – five, to be exact, including a secret ending. You can get all these endings depending on what decisions you make in the story and which lifepath you chose at the beginning of the game. Here are all the endings:

  • Where is my Mind? (Default)
  • All Along the Watchtower
  • New Dawn Fades
  • Path of Glory
  • Path of Least Resistance (Bad Ending)

During the mission Nocturne Op55N1, you’ll be presented with the options that will determine your ending. There’ll be 3 options with the first option being the default choice. To get the other two “main” options, you’ll need to complete Panam’s quest line and the side jobs involving Johnny and Rogue.

3. Is there a secret ending in Cyberpunk 2077?

Cyberpunk 2077

There is a secret ending in Cyberpunk 2077 called Don’t Fear The Ripper. In order to unlock the secret ending, you’ll need to complete a number of Side Jobs before entering Embers to meet with Hanako and you have to reach a certain percentage of friendship with Johnny.

You’ll need to complete these Side Jobs to unlock the secret ending:

  • Tapeworm
  • Chippin’ in
  • Blistering Love

Along with completing these Side Jobs, you’ll also need to maintain a friendship with Johnny Silverhand that is at least over 70%. You’ll not be able to unlock the secret ending if you don’t do the above-mentioned things.

4. Is there a time limit to beat Cyberpunk?

Judy Alvarez in Cyberpunk 2077

There is no time limit to beat Cyberpunk 2077 although you might need to complete certain parts in a limited amount of time like defusing a bomb. But there are no time limits for beating the game or any part of the game.

To completely immerse yourself in the game, you need to take your time and explore Night City to the fullest. You are also free to leave quests and complete them at a later time so there’s no hurry to complete a specific quest.

5. Does Cyberpunk 2077 have any DLC?

Cyberpunk 2077 will be getting its first DLC next year titled “Phantom Liberty” which will take place in a new district of Night City. Earlier this year, CD Projekt Red confirmed that a DLC for Cyberpunk will be arriving but not until next year.

They released a trailer for the DLC which doesn’t show much. V returns as the protagonist, taking an oath of allegiance to serve the New United States of America. Keanu Reeves returns as Johnny Silverhand telling you that taking an oath of allegiance to serve the New United States is a “bad idea”. It’s a next-gen only DLC coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Stadia.

6. Is Cyberpunk 2077 getting a sequel?

Project Orion

Cyberpunk 2077 is indeed getting a sequel but don’t expect it to arrive anytime soon. CD Projekt Red’s CEO Adam Kiciński confirmed that Project Orion (codename for the Cyberpunk sequel) won’t start pre-production until next year, presumably after the release of Phantom Liberty.

The studio is now fully focussing on the new Witcher Trilogy and the Witcher Remake. It’s evident that CDPR wants to focus on the Witcher series, especially the Witcher 4 and they’ll most likely devote all their time and resources to the Witcher games before starting development on the next Cyberpunk game so it’s gonna be a while.

11. About Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is a 2020 action role-playing video game developed by CD Projekt Red and published by CD Projekt, based on video game designer Mike Pondsmith’s game series.

Set in a dystopian cyberpunk universe, the player assumes the role of “V,” a mercenary in the fictional Californian city known as “Night City,” where they deal with the fallout from a heist gone wrong that results in an experimental cybernetic “bio-chip” containing an engram of the legendary rock star and terrorist Johnny Silverhand (played by Keanu Reeves) threatening to slowly overwrite V’s mind; as the story progresses V and Johnny must work together to find a way to be separated and save V’s life.
