How long does it take to beat AC: III? Main Story & 100% Completion Time

Assassin’s Creed: III is the fifth major installment in the series and is a sequel to Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. The game follows the journey of Haytham Kenway and Connor Kenway/Ratonhnhaké:ton and is set during the Seven Years’ War and American Revolutionary War.

The game originally came out in 2013 but was later Remastered for newer consoles in 2019. It initially received mixed reviews but the combat system received praise. The game is fairly long with many side activities to do alongside the main story.

If you want to finish the main story of Assassin’s Creed: III, you’ll require around 16 hours. Completing both the main story and all the side missions will require around 32 hours while a completionist run of the game will take around 54 hours.

Difficulty won’t affect your playtime as the game doesn’t really have a difficulty setting. You have to play the game on a predetermined difficulty level which is basically medium difficulty.

1. How long are the DLCs?

The Tyranny of King Washington – Assassin’s Creed III

Assassin’s Creed: III has two main playable expansions other than the cosmetics which are:

I. The Tyranny of King Washington: The Tyranny of King Washington expansion is about 5 hours in length and a completionist run of the expansion will take around 9 hours.

II. Benedict Arnold DLC: This DLC is about 40 minutes in length. Completing both the story and side missions will take around 50 minutes and a completionist run of this DLC will take merely an hour.

2. How many endings does Assassin’s Creed: III have?

Desmond Miles – Assassin’s Creed III

Assassin’s Creed: III has one definitive ending which serves as a conclusion to both Connor’s story and Desmond Miles’ story. In the end, Desmond is asked to choose between dooming humanity or placing its future in the hands of a vengeful godlike figure called Juno.

Desmond ultimately sacrifices himself for the greater good and that’s how his story comes to a conclusion and the game ends. But in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, it is revealed that when Desmond sacrificed himself, only his physical form was killed while his mind was transported into a computer simulation called The Grey created by the Isu. This could potentially tease the return of Desmond Miles.

3. Is Assassin’s Creed: III a hard game?

Connor in Battle – Assassin’s Creed III

Assassin’s Creed: III’s combat system was fairly experimental but it wasn’t very hard. It can take some time to get used to it but once you get used to it, the combat feels like clockwork.

The game doesn’t have a difficulty system but you shouldn’t really worry about the predetermined difficulty setting as it’s medium. Overall, Assassin’s Creed: III can feel more challenging than the previous titles in the franchise but it’s not at all impossible to master.

4. Does Assassin’s Creed: III have multiplayer?

Multiplayer – Assassin’s Creed III

Assassin’s Creed: III does have a multiplayer mode. The game’s multiplayer mode was developed by Ubisoft Annecy, developers of the multiplayer modes of both Assassin’s Creed: Revelations and Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood.

The game features online cooperative play for two to four players and standard multiplayer mode for up to eight players is also featured in the game. The servers for multiplayer are still most likely active but most players have shifted to newer Assassin’s Creed titles.

5. Is Assassin’s Creed: III Remastered the same as the original?

Assassin’s Creed: III Remastered was released in 2019, 7 years after the original version was released. The Remastered version looks better than the original due to the implementation of Physically Based Rendering (PBR). The Remastered version features better models, better lighting, and supports 4K and HDR.

Along with visual changes, the game’s UI was also revamped to meet the standards expected in modern games, and the gameplay mechanics were also upgraded, improving the experience and immersion of players.
