John Marston

Players will take on the character of John Marston in the epilogue of Red Dead Redemption 2. As they complete more missions, the new protagonist learns how to live a peaceful life in the Wild West.

To explain, John Marston will take on a job as a farmhand and learn to tone down his aggressive nature. As you move ahead in the story, the hot-tempered protagonist learns to stay calm and reevaluate what he wants to prioritize in life.

This epilogue will establish John’s place in the first rendition of Red Dead Redemption. The game divides the epilogue into two chapters that involve around 6-7 hours of gameplay. They are:

Epilogue Part 1

Epilogue Part 1 begins a few years later after the events of Red Dead Redemption 2. In this chapter, John moves to Strawberry to find some work and live a good life with Abigail, his wife, and Jack, his son.

“The Wheel” is the first mission players will take on in this chapter, where the protagonist has to take back a stolen wagon. Likewise, in “Home of the Gentry,” John will have to go to the bank to get a loan and conclude the first part of the epilogue.

II. Epilogue Part 2

The first mission in this chapter is titled “Bare Knuckle Friendships,” in which the player has to travel to Saint-Denis and find Charles. The story concludes with “American Venom,” where John has to help Sadie catch Cleet before he escapes.

The protagonist will receive all of Arthur’s outfits and weapons after completing a few missions in the epilogue. Therefore, it’s recommended for players to spend the cash before they start the main story quest, “Red Dead Redemption.”
