Tyr has been mentioned a number of times in the first game but he finally makes his appearance in the sequel, God of War Ragnarok. From the first trailer, fans are wondering how tall the Norse God of War is, as he towers above Kratos, who is tall as well. 

Tyr towers at the height of a whopping eight feet and five inches tall while Kratos is six feet four inches tall. As you progress through Ragnarok, you’ll find out more about the Norse God of War and how he joins forces with the Greek God of War, Kratos.

Tyr is voiced by Ben Prendergast in God of War Ragnarok. He does a phenomenal job in bringing the Norse God of War to life. He nails the voice of a God who has been imprisoned for centuries and is freed only to prepare for a catastrophic war, which ends all the Nine Realms. 

Prendergast has lent his acting and voice acting skills to an assortment of credits, including the voice of Fuse in Apex Legends, the voice of Darth Maul and General Hux in The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special, and Star Wars Resistance.

Tyr is the Norse God of War in the God of War universe. Even though he’s the God of War, he always fought for peace between the Giants and the Aesir Gods. He’s depicted as Odin’s many sons and Thor’s half-brother. However, he was nothing like the Aesir Gods. 

The large temple in Lake of the Nine in God of War was built by Tyr, which allowed him to travel easily between the realms as he tried to ensure peace across all nine. Tyr had traveled into different cultures in order to understand new perspectives, believing this is the only way to achieve peace. 

What role does Tyr play in the Battle of Ragnarok?

The Norse God of War leads the Jötunn army (army of the Giants) against the Aesir Gods in an all-out war between the two factions. Prophecy says that Tyr sacrifices himself for the greater good in the Battle of Ragnarok. 

Surtur, the Fire Giant, falls at the hands of Odin while his fiery breath destroys all of Asgard and all the Gods as well. A new world emerges from the destruction of the old. However, we do not know how the Battle of Ragnarok is gonna be depicted in God of War Ragnarok as prophecy did not mention Kratos in the war.
