During your travels as a Viking in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Eivor will be tasked with burning down a house or two.
As you are a Viking, it is expected that you are well versed in the arts of raiding and arson but Assassin’s Creed Valhalla doesn’t exactly give you instructions on how to ignite a domicile on fire. The storyline is more ‘hands on’ and it is up to you to learn the art of conjuring buildings into fireballs.
1. How to Burn Houses in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
To burn a house in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, all you need to do is light the flammable roof on fire. Lighting the roof can be done by throwing a lit torch or a fire arrow. There are different instances in the game where you have to use slight variations.
Alternatively, there is an unlockable ability that ignites your melee weapon on fire called ‘Fire Strike’. You can also use this to set stuff on fire but I would not recommend going this way. First, it uses adrenaline. Secondly, you can get fire damage from the nearby burning objects.
2. Burn Down the House in The Rekindling Mission
During The Rekindling mission, it is upto Eivor to rekindle the love life of a ‘raid-loving’ couple and they ask you to burn down their house so that they can pretend that they are raiding!

This time around two Norse Warriors need help to set a house on fire to make a raid feel more ‘real’. Valhalla does have ample warriors who insist on things to feel more Viking-like!

Both times you get a chance to get the plunder from the burning houses. Who knew burning could be so rewarding! Sometimes one torch is just not enough, so you gotta use a couple of them until you see the fire spreading.
Do keep in mind that nearby objects can and do catch on fire so you should be keeping your distance lest you are looking for ways to drop some HP. I prefer to just use torches from afar but a lit arrow can be equally effective.
