Fix Online Service Error in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla ǀ Detailed Guide

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has an infamous long history of game-breaking glitches, bugs, and crashes. Recently, a large chunk of the AC Valhalla community has reported an annoying error called ‘Online Service Error’ that does not let players past the title screen, making the game literally unplayable. 

Luckily, it is not one of those bugs that Ubisoft takes months to patch up. In fact, you can quickly resolve this issue in minutes by tweaking some of your PC settings. But, before starting with the fix, make sure you have a strong and stable internet connection. If not, try restarting your Wi-Fi router. 

To resolve the Online Service Error in AC Valhalla: 

  • Step 1: Type ‘Firewall & network protection’ in the search bar of the desktop and open this system setting. 
  • Step 2: Click on ’Allow an app through firewall.’ 
  • Step 3: In the new window, select  ‘Change settings. 
  • Step 4: Select the ‘Allow another app…’ option. 
  • Step 5: Select the Browse option to add new apps. 
  • Step 6: Navigate to the location where AC Valhalla is installed and add every Ubisoft online service there to the Windows Firewall exception list. 
  • Step 7: Restart your PC.

That’s it! Once you correctly follow all these steps, the online service error will be resolved, and the game will function smoothly. 

However, if you are unfortunately still facing the same error after completing all the steps, try this method: 

  • Step 1: Open Ubisoft Play. 
  • Step 2: Go to Settings. 
  • Step 3: Select the General tab. 
  • Step 4: Mark the ‘Enable in-game overlay for supported games’ option. 
  • Step 5: Restart Ubisoft Play. 

This method should surely resolve the error, and AC Valhalla should function totally fine.
