How to Fix the Holy Day Bug in AC Valhalla?

The Holy Day bug in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will prevent you from progressing further as the game glitches to trigger the next quest sequence.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla brings massive improvements to both the gameplay and combat departments as the franchise moves to open-world RPG elements, but it is not without its caveats. Valhalla has its fair share of bugs and glitches, and one such game-breaking anomaly during the Holy Day mission sequence will prevent your progress. Thankfully, it’s an easy fix.

1. How to Fix the Holy Day Bug in AC Valhalla?

After I finished up the Kingdom’s End quest, I was quite lost as I didn’t have any new quest to start. Looking up walkthroughs, it was clear that the Holy Day quest should be the next. I quickly found others like me who had the same issue.

As u/asirpakamui digs deep, he even found out what prevents the next quest from coming up; lo and behold, it’s a stuck NPC!

The Glitched NPC preventing the Holy Day Quest Trigger

To fix the Holy Day bug in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you need to manually load the game from a recent save or travel back and forth between Norway to trigger the quest.

FIX 1: Manually Load a Save Game

The easiest way to fix the Holy Day bug in AC Valhalla is to simply load one of the recent autosave or your manual save. Progress up to the Kingdom’s End quest, and the next quest should trigger smoothly.

FIX 2: Travel Back to Norway

If the first method does not work for you, there is another way that fixed the Holy Day bug for many. Travel to Norway and come back to England! This seems to reset and fix the bug for many players and is worth a shot.

2. Should you Reinstall AC Valhalla to fix the Hold Day Glitch?

No, reinstalling Assassin’s Creed Valhalla does not fix the Holy Day bug. Unless there is a new update out that needs installation, reinstalling will not help your case.

Use one of the two above methods to advance to the next quest and continue your Viking yourney.
