New World Guide: How to Craft and Get Iron Storage in New World?

In New World, players can build chests to keep their supplies safe inside their houses. For instance, the Iron Storage Chest grants 300 additional storage to keep armor, ingredients, and other items. But, how can you craft an Iron Storage Chest in New World?

A player needs to have 30x Lumber, 15x Steel Ingot, 1x Maple Stain, and 1x Major Rune of Holding to make an Iron Storage Chest in New World. Moreover, they need to have Furnishing Level 85 and go to a Tier 3 or higher Workshop.

But many beginners struggle to figure out where and how to obtain the ingredients required to craft the Iron Storage Chest in New World. Therefore, in this guide, we’ll cover everything you need to know about the storage items to add to your houses.

1. How to get Maple Stain in New World?

New World players can craft Maple Stain by using 4x Oil and 10x Weak Solvent. Those that don’t have these resources can purchase them from others at Trading Posts.

Those looking for oil can mine it from the Seeping Stones scattered across Aeternum. Before doing this, make sure the character has their mining level to at least 20. Otherwise, it’s impossible to gather oil from mining rocks.

On the other hand, a person can get Weak Solvent from looting Supply Crates, Ancient Chests, and their variants. Many players can find these crates while exploring or completing missions across Aeternum.

2. How to get Major Rune of Holding in New World?

Major Rune of Holding

Players need to go to the faction shop to get the Major Rune of Holding in New World. These faction shops are unlocked once players complete the trials of the faction they want to join.

The Faction missions are recommended for those around level 25 or 26, as these quests can get pretty rough. They give you experience which will promote you to a higher rank, giving players various benefits. It also unlocks the ability to purchase new and rarer items from the shop, like the Major Rune of Holding.

The item is used to craft storage items, so players may prefer to stack them to craft leather bags and Iron Storage Chests.

3. How to get Steel Ingots in New World?

Steel Ingots

To craft a Steel Ingot, the players need to go to a settlement where the smelter is at least level 3. Also, you need ingredients like 3x Iron Ingots, 2x Charcoal, and 1x Sand Flux to get one in New World.

First, players need to have a bunch of Iron Ore to craft Iron Ingots. There are plenty of places to mine the ore, as the Midnight Den in Everfall. If you’re lucky, you might even find multiple nodes to mine in the same area.

The next step is to make some Charcoal. To do this, cut down and gather some wood from the forests in Aeternum. Then, take the wood to a Tier 2 Smelter to turn it into Charcoal.

Note: It takes three pieces of wood to make one Charcoal, so collect resources accordingly.

Finally, players have to open Supply Crates and Chest to get some Sand Flux. Take note of how much of these ingredients you’ll need to get for a sufficient amount of Steel Ingots to craft the Iron Storage Chest in New World.

4. How to get Lumber in New World?

Players need to visit a Tier 3 Woodshop to craft Lumber in New World. They also need to have 2x Timber, 4x Aged Wood, and 1x Coarse Sandpaper in their inventory.

Players need to have Level 50 Logging to collect aged wood from mature trees in a forest. Additionally, you need 4x Green-Wood to craft Timber at a Tier 3 Woodshop.

At last, collect Sandpaper from Supply Caches which can be found anywhere on the island. This concludes all the materials you need to craft an Iron Storage Chest in New World.

5. How to level up Furnishing in New World?

To level up Furnishing in New World, players need to mass craft furniture that provides high XP and consumes very few resources. These materials can be crafted by going to a Workshop crafting station.

Furnishing is considered the hardest skill to level up in New World. However, you only need to level it up to 85 to be able to craft Iron Storage Chests. You also need to have a higher-tier workshop to unlock the ability to craft more items. These higher-tier workshops can be found at different settlements in Aeternum.

6. How many Iron Storage Chests can you keep in a house?

The house tier decides how many chests New World players can add to store their items. For example, a Tier 4 house gives you the freedom to apply five different storage chests inside it.

Moreover, the chests have items that progressively give more storage to players. The Iron Storage Chest is a Tier 2 chest, perfect for beginners who have an overflowing inventory and don’t want to dispose of their items.

In conclusion, choose how many Iron Storage Chest to craft depending on how much material you’d like to keep in your village safely.
