In Amazon’s New World, there is an abundance of resources at your disposal. Whether you gather them, refine them, or craft them, always remember that you’re going to need these resources to enjoy New World to its absolute potential.
Obviously, some of these are trickier to collect than others. Though, finding them can net you some stupidly badass tools and other items. One such item that you’d certainly not want to miss out on is the Ancient Skull.
If you’re unsure where to look for the Skull or how to use it though, don’t worry because I’m here to help you out with that.
In Amazon’s New World, you can obtain the Ancient Skull in two ways. You can get it as a drop reward from Ancient Chests and Supply Stockpiles (Large) or receive it as a drop from Ancient, Lost, or Corrupted enemies.
The Skull lets you craft a Skull Candleholder, a piece of furnishing for your home’s limited light slots. It looks pretty badass, honestly, and is definitely a worthy addition to your home in New World – more crafting it with the Ancient Skull Later.
For now, let me give you more details on acquiring the Ancient Skull, its variants, uses, and everything else in between there.
1. Ancient Chests (Large) and Supply Stockpiles (Large)
To get Ancient Skull as a drop reward from Ancient Chests, you’ll have to try your luck with one of the many large Ancient Chests and Supply Stockpiles spread all across Aeternum.
But the drop rate depends on your level and the container’s location, so you better prepare yourself for some disappointment before getting your hands on an Ancient Skull.
2. Drop from Ancient, Lost, and Corrupted Enemies
The Ancient Skull can drop by defeating certain enemies in New World.
If your focus is to farm these Skulls only, then you might want to try exploring every Ancient Ruin, Abandoned Town, and head over to every Corrupted Breaches. Kill all the Ancient, Lost, and Corrupted enemies that you find to receive the Skull as a drop.
However, keep in mind that since the Skull is an item of EPIC rarity, the drop can be somewhat rare and may demand a long grind.
So, with such methods of obtaining an Ancient Skull, you might be wondering whether or not it’s worth it in the end or not. To that, I say, let’s have a look at it, okay?
4. What are the uses of the Ancient Skull in Amazon’s New World?
You can use the Ancient Skull for crafting a Skull Candleholder. It’s a super good piece of furnishing for players’ homes – it serves as a source of light in the game. Considering how cool it looks, you definitely don’t want to miss out on getting this one.
For Crafting a Skull CandleHolder, you’re going to need:
- Beeswax x10
- T3 Steel Ingot x5
- Ancient Skull x1
5. Is finding an Ancient Skull worth your time and effort?
The Ancient Skull can help craft a Skull Candleholder, but that’s pretty much the only purpose of this resource. So, you can obtain it at your own leisure, or avoid it if you want.
Plus, if you ever find one and don’t really have any use for it, you can comfortably sell it for around 40-50 coins in the game, as of writing – not the best value for the resource, I’d say, but good enough nonetheless.
Either way, if you want the Skull, you now know how to get it – happy hunting.
