Easy Guide to Solve Cursed Tomb Treasure Quest in Hogwarts Legacy

Side quests are an important part of any game, but in Hogwarts Legacy they have an added thrill which will take you on fantastic adventures, earn you exciting rewards and expand your sense of the Potter universe.

Once you get to level 20 or above, you’ll notice a new side quest on the list: the Cursed Tomb Treasure quest. It sounds spooky and exciting at the same time, which I’m sure will entice you to make an attempt for it.

While a few players may be able to solve it on their own, the quest overall is quite complicated. My advice would be to refer to the guide down below to smoothly sail through it!

Requirements

In order to successfully complete the Cursed Tomb Treasure side quest, players need to be at Level 23, and they also must complete the Helm of Urtkot Main Quest along with mastering Alohomora Level 3.

Without the above, it will be near impossible to complete the quest. So if you’re missing even one of these requirements, don’t rush — come back to this quest after you’ve ticked all the boxes.

If you already have all these prerequisites, follow the guide below to learn how to successfully complete the quest.

Finding the Map in Manor Cape

I. Route 1

In order to get to the treasure, you’ll have to look for the “Mysterious Map Fragment”. You’ll find this map in the basement of a destroyed manor in Manor Cape.

First, go to World Map, then to Manor Cape West, and finally select Manor Cape Floo Flame. Once you’re here, follow the northeast trail to the quest point. You’ll see a destroyed manor — enter and go down the basement steps. You’ll be able to unlock the door using Alohomora (Level 3).

II. Route 2 (Doesn’t Need Alohomora Level 3)

If you haven’t acquired Alohomora Level 3 yet, there is a cheat you can use. Instead of going to the destroyed manor, go to the mausoleum on the hill using the fast travel point.

Light the torch at its base, after which the statue will reveal an entrance. This will take you directly to the basement of the destroyed manor.

III. Inferi Battle at the Manor Basement

Once here, you’ll have to make your way to a large room where you’ll encounter several Inferi. You can easily defeat them using Incendio, Confringo, or any other appropriate spell. Turn left and keep fighting off the Inferi till you reach a hallway.

IV. Acquiring the Mysterious Map Fragment

In the hallway, you’ll find a statue holding a staff. Immediately, an Ashwinder will appear — Fear not! To defeat it, simply break its shield using the same color spell as the shield, then cast some attacking spells.

Once it’s defeated, you’ll find a chest in the room which you can open using Alohomora (Level 1). Here you’ll find the Mysterious Map Fragment.

To exit the basement, go to the statue in the room, light the brazier at its base, and get onto the platform. This will take you outside.

Although the map looks confusing, it ultimately wants you to travel to the Tomb of Treachery. You can find this location on the World Map’s Poidsear Coast region and then select Tomb of Treachery Floo Flame.

Once you get here, you’ll spot a cave. Upon entering, you’ll be pestered by some spiders, but just use your best attacking spells to get rid of them. You’ll also find some small chests which you can open using Revelio. These contain some minor rewards!

How to Solve Curse Tomb Treasure Puzzles

I. Moth Door Puzzle

From here on, you’ll have to solve a couple of puzzles in order to get to the main treasure chest.

Here are the steps to solve the moth door puzzle:

  • Walk to the next room, enter the door on your right and you’ll find two moths on their perches. These are two of the many moths that you’ll have to attract and take to the moth door in the other room.
  • Use Lumos to direct the moths to the moth door.
  • Whenever you come across a spiderweb (which acts as a barrier), get rid of them using Incendio/Confringo.
  • When you find a crate, lift it using Wingardium Leviosa and place it against the ledge with broken vases. Once you climb up on it, you’ll find more moths.
  • Repeat the steps of finding the moths and placing them on the moth door. After all the moths are placed, the door will open up!

II. Inferi Attack

Once the door opens, you’ll be once against attacked by Inferi. Just like the first time, defeat them using them best spells in your arsenal.

III. Floor Puzzle

The last puzzle involves you using the map to rearrange the stones in front of you. But first, you must cast Revelio, which turns the specific stones blue. Remember to rearrange only these blue stones.

Using Flipendo, arrange these stones to match the pattern on your map.

Important: Make sure you’re standing in front of the brazier that’s on the right whilst entering the room. Only from this position can you rearrange the stones in the right order.

Once that’s done, your quest is completed and you’ll be rewarded with the Cursed Tomb’s Treasure chest!

What is the reward for completing the Cursed Tomb quest?

The reward for completing the Cursed Tomb quest is the Treasure Seeker’s Attire, along with general level-ups for completing a quest.

As with many side-quests, the reward for completing this one isn’t directly connected to the main story — The Treasure Seeker’s attire won’t help you with any other challenges or give you any power-ups, but it’s definitely a mark of achievement!

Plus, you’ll be able to mark off yet another side quest off your list, level up through the completion, and even be able to finish the game a 100%!
