God of War Ragnarok brings back the Nornir Chests, which allow Kratos to increase his health meter and Rage meter when unlocked. The process to unlock a Nornir Chest is a tiny bit tedious as you have to look for three different runes located in places nearby.
Once you have found the runes, you can unlock the Nornir Chest, which gives you either the Apples of Idunn to increase health or the Horn of Blood Mead to increase your Rage meter.
This guide will help you to unlock two Nornir Chests located in Aurvangar Wetlands in the realm of the dwarves, Svartalfheim.
How to unlock Aurvangar Wetlands Nornir Chest 1?
The first Nornir Chest in Svartalfheim is located in the Aurvangar Wetlands, in the area where the geysers are situated. In order to cross and find a way to turn the large wooden wheel in the water to get past it in the boat, you need to freeze the geysers by throwing your Leviathan Axe.
You need to throw your axe at three of the nearby runes to unlock the Nornir Chest.
I. The First Rune
The Nornir Chest is located beside the first geyser to the right after docking the boat. The first rune that you need to destroy is located to the right of the chest.
II. The Second Rune
The second rune is on an inaccessible island behind and to the left of the chest. Throw the Leviathan Axe to destroy the rune.
III. The Third Rune
To access the third rune, you must go back and freeze the geyser under the platform above the chest.
After doing so, you can jump up and destroy the final rune, which is located under a tree.
How to unlock Aurvangar Wetlands Nornir Chest 2?
The second Nornir Chest in the Aurvangar Wetlands of Svartalfheim is located on the island that you come across by going under the small wooden bridge in the boat near the Legendary Chest on a ledge. Dock the boat there and go right to find the Nornir Chest.
The way to open this chest is a bit different than the rest. However, those who have played the first game will be quick to solve it. To open the chest, you need to spin the golden circles above the three runes by hitting them with your axe until it displays the correct one.
I. The First Rune
The first rune is located to the right of the Nornir Chest. To access the rune, you will need to freeze the geyser by throwing your axe at it first to see what symbol is currently displayed. The correct symbol for this spinner is the ‘P’ symbol. Keep hitting the paddles with the axe until the ‘P’ symbol is displayed on the spinner. After that, freeze the geyser to ensure it’s the ‘P’ symbol.
II. The Second Rune
The second rune is located around the corner from the first spinner, above the drop. Keep throwing your axe at the paddles until the ‘B’ symbol is displayed. That should be the correct one.
III. The Third Rune
The third rune is located near the Legendary Chest in the upper left-hand corner of this area. Climb the wall on the left and turn around to spot the rune. Keep hitting the paddles with your axe until the ‘N’ symbol appears. That should unlock the second Nornir Chest.
