Deathloop – Unlock the Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: PAIN trophy with ease

As players of Deathloop time-loop their way through the island of Blackreef, taking down different targets in an effort to break free from this supposed prison, they might find themselves unlocking an achievement or so.

This game’s many achievements are particularly fascinating as they push you to try out new strategies and methods for taking on the different aspects of this game – definitely a must-do if you’re enjoying this game as it stands.

That said, though, once you set out to unlock all the achievements that Deathloop offers, you’re bound to end up stuck with one or two of them.

These achievements may require you to perform certain specific actions in the game that may or may not be easy. One of these tricky achievements that I’m aware of is the “Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: PAIN,” which requires Colt to transmit damage over more than 20 meters using Nexus.

Use Nexus Ability to Give Damage

The Nexus Slab, which you acquire by killing the Visionary Harriet Morse, gives Colt the ability to link enemies together in a way that killing one enemy will kill off all the linked ones as well.

So, with an awesome ability like that in hand, how can you unlock the “Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: PAIN” achievement in Deathloop?

Out of all the ways to unlock the “Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: PAIN” achievement in Deathloop, the easiest method would be to head over to Otto’s Workshop in Udaam at Noon. Once there, use the Nexus ability on the eternalists present from an appropriate distance and kill one of them quickly to earn the trophy.

Of course, before you get to all that, you need to actually obtain this ability – not really that big of a deal but still a small cause for concern. Not to mention, you must be wondering whether there’s some reward for unlocking this achievement or not.

Well, we’ll get to all that in time. For now, let me tell you about this achievement a little more in detail.

How can you get the “Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: PAIN” trophy in Deathloop?

As I’ve mentioned above, you need to transmit damage to enemies over 20 meters away using Colt’s Nexus ability. That said, let’s start with how you can obtain this ability then, shall we?

To summarise obtaining the ability for you – following the “Chaos Theory” Visionary Lead, you need to head to Karl’s Bay in the morning, find Harriet Morse, and claim her Nexus Slab.

It’s fairly easy to get her, so don’t fret over it too much – just follow the leads as they come (especially the “Bump of Harriet” and “Seize Harriet’s Nexus Slab” leads).

Another way to get the Slab is to kill Juliana. However, do note that this would be an extremely rare drop, so don’t count on it too much. Considering how easy it is to get the Slab from Harriet, there’s really no reason to go down this route.

Anyway, with the Nexus ability in hand, you now have multiple ways of unlocking this trophy/achievement. As I’ve stated a moment ago, the best way to get this achievement is to head over to Otto’s workshop in Updaam (Noon) since the eternalists present, along with the distance between them are arguably the most optimal for your work.

Once you arrive at your destination, you need to use your ability multiple times on the eternalists in the middle and the outskirts to link them together.

Now that you’re done with that, you need to be really quick on your feet, as the link is timed. So, once they are linked, try to kill one of them as quickly as you can. If done correctly, the achievement banner would pop up on your screen.

With all that, you’re finally done with the task – the Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: PAIN is now yours. Now I know, with all that work to do, you must be wondering, what do I get in return – is going to such lengths just for an achievement really important? Let’s take a look at that, then.

Should you unlock the Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: PAIN achievement in Deathloop?

As is the case with any of the achievements in this game, they are completely optional and you can swim through your game with ease without ever giving them a second thought.

However, achievements like the one we’ve just discussed help players unravel the extent of their control over their abilities and the number of methods for taking a particular situation on.

These trophies really help you understand the game more deeply, and as a result, turn you into a better player. Not to mention, it goes without saying that this achievement is a must-have for all the completionists out there trying to 100% this game.

But yes, that’s pretty the extent of what this achievement brings to the table. Now, it’s up to you whether you wish to get it or not. Whatever the case may be though, don’t forget to have fun trying to break your way through Blackreef – good luck.
