A Guide to Unlock Disillusionment / Eye Chests – Hogwarts Legacy

In your journey throughout Hogwarts Legacy, you might have noticed some chests with big, weird eyes. These chests cannot be opened with basic spells or charms that you learn and if you try to open them, they’ll growl at you which is quite unpleasant. So how do you unlock them?

These chests can be found in every corner of Hogwarts and approaching the chest will cause the eye to follow your every move, so you need to sneak up on them. Crouching won’t do any good but when combined with the Disillusionment Charm, you’ll be able to unlock these chests easily.

Now that you know how to unlock these chests, you might be wondering where you can obtain the Disillusionment Charm from. We’ve got you covered on that as well. Read below to find out.

How to obtain the Disillusionment Charm?

You can learn the Disillusionment Charm from Sebastian Sallow during the main quest’s, Secrets of the Restricted, section. In the quest, Sallow will teach you the Charm by the Central Hall to sneak past students and into the library.

In the Restricted Section, you’ll find an Eye Chest and you’ll be able to open it for the first time using the Charm. Don’t get too close to the chest. Instead, cast the spell from a distance and get close enough to trigger a prompt to open it.

What do these Eye Chests contain?
