Intel Arc A770M and A550M’s First 3DMark Test Scores Emerge, Marking Their Entry into the Testing Stage 

The GPU market will see Intel enter the race this year with its Arc Alchemist lineup. So far, the series has only launched A380M, the entry-level GPU, exclusively in China. A550M, A730M, and A770M are the higher variants of the series, which still have limited amounts of information. 

@_rogame provided leaked 3DMark entries of the unreleased A550M and A770M GPUs. Although the test results do not reveal anything particularly important, they indicate that the GPUs have entered their testing stage.

The A550M SKU featuring half of the ACM-G10 GPU cores (16 Xe-Cores) scored 6017 points in 3DMark Time Spy using an older 1726 driver. Unfortunately, this test was run with Intel APO (Advanced Performance Optimizations) enabled, which basically renders it invalid as per 3DMark rules. APO improves the synthetic test performance by 15%. Although tested with an older driver, the A550M is around 67% slower than the A730M. 

The Arc 550M utilizes 16 Xe-Cores for 2048 ALUs, a graphics clock of 900 MHz, and up to 8 GB GDDR6 memory that operates across a 128-bit wide bus interface and a TDP target of 60-80W.

We also have A770M 3DMark Fire Extreme test results while using Core i7-12700H as the CPU. The graphics score of 13244 falls in the same range as that of RTX 3070. The gaming benchmarks of A770M revealed that the GPU was just 12% faster than an RTX 3060M. 

The Arc 770M utilizes 32 Xe-Cores for 4096 ALUs, 32 ray tracing units, a graphics clock of 1650 MHz, and up to 16 GB GDDR6 memory that operates across a 256-bit wide bus interface and a TDP target of 120-150W.  

The difference in the synthetic and gaming results could be due to APO, but it clearly shows that Intel has much more optimizations to do before they can extract out the max performance from Alchemist GPUs.  

So far it seems that Intel will struggle in the mid-range and premium segment with its Arc Alchemist lineup but it could dominate in the low-end segment range. With the GPUs entering their testing stage, it looks as if the Arc lineup is just weeks away from launch. Intel’s Arc Alchemist GPUs are tipped to launch in Q4 2022.
