Intel Core i5-12490F was a special edition exclusively released for the Chinese market with increased cache. This CPU used a die from a higher-end model with increased L3 cache and higher clocks than the i5-12400F. Its successor is called the i5-13490F which is still in development.

According to the leaked images, the Intel Core i5-13490F features 10 cores (6P+4E) and 16 threads, similar to the i5-13400F.

The most notable difference between the i5-13490F and the i5-13400 is the clock speeds, which are 200 MHz higher and on par with i5-13500.

The increased L3 cache has 24 MB so an additional 4MB are available in this SKU. Hence, the L2 cache remains the same at 9.5MB.

The i5-13490F has already been tested with CPU-Z benchmark, having scored 779.7 points in single and 6835.4 points in multi-core test.

When compared to the i5-13400F, it delivers 6% and 4.5% more performance.

The earlier model arrived in a black box, only available in China. Intel did not include a stock cooler system with the i5-13490F. There is no official listing on the official website also nor was it announced at the CES 2023.
