Intel releases First Arc PRO GPU Driver after more than Four Months

Intel is one of those manufacturers who really prioritize product quality, and it’s evident how their teams work relentlessly to improve its software development. However, their professional GPUs division has been pretty idle lately since the last update for the Arc PRO series was more than 4 months ago.

Intel recently launched their latest Arc Pro 31.0.101.4092 driver. The update comes with WHQL certification for Arc PRO A40 and A30 GPUs. It mainly focuses on professional app certification.

Here’s the list of workstation applications that are now verified and added to the support list:

  • Autodesk 3ds Max* 2022, 2023
  • Autodesk AutoCAD* 2022, 2023
  • Autodesk Fusion 360*
  • Autodesk Inventor* 2022, 2023
  • Autodesk Maya* 2022, 2023
  • Bentley MicroStation* 10.17.00.29.x
  • Dassault Systèmes SOLIDWORKS* 2022, 2023
  • PTC Creo* 8, 9
  • Siemens NX* 2027
  • Siemens Solid Edge* 2022, 2023
  • Vectorworks* 2023

The Arc PRO 31.0.101.4092 driver is available for download on Intel’s official website.

The Arc PRO 31.0.101.4092 driver merely measures up to 460 MB. The software engineering team at Intel has somehow managed to reduce the driver size to almost 50% from 1.3 GB.

With this size, the graphics driver is now ahead of other leading manufacturers such as NVIDIA (859MB) and AMD (599MB). This is all thanks to the embedding of the Arc Control Software and Iris GPU drivers.

Intel has three professional GPU options– desktop A40, A30 and A30M for laptop devices. These cards feature Arc Alchemist (Xe-HPG) architecture and were first announced back in August. But these cards are only available to OEMs.

The driver update also features several fixes for the aforementioned apps. However, the “Known Issues” list is ever growing, and Intel has not commented on pairing the Arc PRO GPUs with ACM-G10 GPU.
