Intel to Increase Recommended Customer Price for Alder Lake CPUs

There was a sly increase in Intel 12th Gen Core series retail prices in early January. This went mostly unnoticed because the pricing has not been affected much at retailers. The 13th Gen series remains the same as before.

According to reports, Intel will lower the price of a few selected 12th Gen Core CPUs by up to 20%.

This chart lists the potential price cuts by Intel for its 12th Gen Alder Lake models. This reflects the Recommended Retail Price by Intel, and not the actual retail prices.

As per the updated “Recommended Customer Price” for Intel’s Alder Lake CPUs, the price for Core i9-12900K went up to $649 from $589. However, its actual retail price ranges between $399-$420.

Intel has also declared that it will be cutting down on salaries of its management and several senior staff. This is being done to make up for a recent drop in revenue.

The CPU market has been sitting stagnant for a while now due to slow sales. Consumers are either pushing back their purchases or canceling it completely. Business has been steady for some time now which might force manufacturers to lower their product prices.
