Intel Arrow Lake-HX Next-Gen Mobile Series Tool Spotted in New Leak

Intel Raptor Lake is a perfect example of hybrid architecture featuring Raptor Cove performance cores and Gracemont efficient cores. It is fabricated using Intel 7 process. After months of development, it looks like we might be finally getting its successor.

A new leak revealed that the successor to 13th Gen Core-HX (Raptor Lake) series will be based on Arrow Lake die. This was concluded after an interposer for ‘Gen5 VR Test Tool’ was spotted, further confirming that the next-gen series will utilize the BGA2114 socket.

Judging from the image, it might have come from the Intel NDA content distribution platform. However, it does not provide any further details about the upcoming series such as core counts, SKU names, and more.

In 2022, Intel expanded its range of H-series Intel Core CPUs with “HX” SKUs. It included the first desktop and mobile hybrid platform with the most muscle power, designed to cater to the “extreme mobile” or “muscle” segment.

The 13th Gen Core-HX SKUs will feature more cores, higher clock speeds and better PCIe interface with more lanes than the H/U series. The HX series featured desktop silicon on a mobile BGA interposer, with higher core counts on a limited power i.e., 55W base and 157W boost.

Intel’s Raptor Lake desktop CPUs are slated to launch in the second half of 2023. These CPUs will make use of the existing LGA1700 platforms, featuring SKUs with 8+16, 6+8 and 2+8 configurations.

Intel is also yet to confirm its future plans or roadmap for Arrow Lake-HX CPUs. It is highly possible that Arrow Lake and Meteor Lake might be launched simultaneously. Hopefully, we might get an official announcement by Intel soon enough.
