In terms of graphics, we seldom seem to incline towards Intel, and consequently, it always lagged far behind Nvidia and AMD. But now, it looks like the team blue’s fortunes are about to change for the better.
Ever since Intel outlined its plan of releasing Arc GPUs, there have been talks that this upcoming lineup of graphic cards will be giving Nvidia a run for its money. Turns out, it wasn’t paper talk after all.
As per the leaked benchmarks posted by Twitter user @TUM_APISAK, there’s a possibility that Intel’s upcoming Arc Alchemist GPU can overcome Nvidia’s RTX 3070 Ti with regard to performance.
When both GPUs went toe-to-toe in this comparison, the Arc came out on top by having a score of 9,017.52 million pixels per second over RTX 3070 Ti’s 8,369.51 Mpix/s.
While this does not mean that Intel’s forthcoming card is better, it does show that the GPU has the potential to be at the level where it gives heavy hitters of the industry an intense competition.
Then again, it must be kept in mind that these benchmarks should always be taken with a pinch of salt. Nothing is official yet, and above all, Intel Arc hasn’t even seen the light of the day yet.
Any strong judgments concerning the Arc should be kept reserved until it reaches the hands of critics and consumers because then the review would be more authentic.
Now coming to when Intel Arc will hit the market. Well, the present state of affairs doesn’t appear to be very promising.
There’s a good chance that the card could miss its slated release window of Q1 2022 as all references suggesting a first-quarter launch have been removed from the company’s website. But since Intel is yet to comment on this piece of information, hopefully, all this is nothing but speculation.
