Do Kassandra and ISU make an appearance in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?

Similar to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla offers players the option to choose between a male and a female protagonist. However, there’s a noteworthy exception in the former as both Kassandra and Alexios from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey possess substantial historical context. Alexios is the canon Deimos, and Kassandra is the canon Eagle bearer.

Moreover, Kassandra is the character responsible for passing on the Staff of Hermes to Layla, which renders her almost 2400 years old.

Since Assassin’s Creed Valhalla occurs approximately towards the end of the ninth century and Kassandra is born somewhere in 400 years BC, she’s estimated to have an age of 1300 years. There’s no reason to assume she’s dead, so you might wonder how she filled 1300 years and where she was during this period. With increasing speculation, players are wondering if she’s a part of AC Valhalla.

Kassandra will appear as an NPC in the Crossover Stories DLC of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. However, since everyone she knew or loved was killed, no other ISU apart from her is alive in the game.

Here’s more about Kassandra’s role in AC Valhalla.

Staff of Hermes in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Staff of Hermes

While meeting Layla Hassan in AC Odyssey, Kassandra exclaims regarding Ikaros that everyone she either knew or loved was dead long before her. This long list includes her mother, brother Alexios, beloved eagle Ikaros, adopted father, etc. Nevertheless, Kassandra remained alive with prosperous health due to the Staff of Hermes, and it also allowed her to live with a purpose.

This specific Piece of Eden is potent in numerous ways, having served a vital role in the latest storyline. It guides Kassandra to Layla, drives Layla to Desmond/ the Reader, and takes Basim from AC Valhalla to the modern-day.

Although the outcome of the latter couple of objectives is yet to be understood, the inevitable end of Kassandra is predestined. However, the journey matters a lot more than the destination, at least in this case. Consequently, the world surrounding her underwent transition and changed Kassandra with it, subjecting her to massive amounts of human history.

These possible outcomes aren’t explored in the latest franchises, but they open the gateways for her to appear in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed games.

Unfortunately, Kassandra doesn’t exist in the basic AC Valhalla game, but she does come to life in AC Origins. Ubisoft introduced her as a character in the lined-up Crossover Stories DLC.

Waiting for the Heir of Memories

Waiting for the Heir of Memories

Although it’s known that Kassandra is waiting for the Heir, she isn’t sitting with Aletheia in Atlantis for centuries.

Upon appearing to Layla, she’s wearing a dress that could indicate her recent activities. It might not mean that she was a businesswoman, but it could imply specific experiences in the modern world.

Kassandra’s introduction in AC Valhalla might have been avoided due to the above-mentioned choice between her and her brother. Moreover, there’s no indication that she was involved with the Hidden Ones, but there could’ve been a secret link.

She could have been present in England or even Greece. Nonetheless, at 1300 years of age, it’s challenging to imagine her remaining in Greece. Since transfiguring is one of the many abilities of the staff, there are several possibilities.

Even though she doesn’t appear in the main storyline, Ubisoft has introduced Kassandra in the Crossover Stories DLC. This introduction is in the form of a monologue, a conversation she has with herself.

You can encounter her by completing the Count Sheep mission. Travel to Syke Island and collect the five fragments which will help you open a hidden door. Subsequently, progress to the coast near Hungladder, and you’ll come across Kassandra conversing with herself.

The release of this DLC also means that there is at least one ISU alive in AC Valhalla, Kassandra. Every other ISU remains dead. However, players can find them through a secret ending in the game.

How to get the secret ISU ending in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?

Players need to collect 10 Animus Anomalies to get the secret ISU ending in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. In this storyline, the Norse gods are revealed to be ISU personifications with Ragnarok representing the great disaster.

Additionally, it’s revealed that Basim is the reincarnation of Loki, who’s planning to seek revenge on Eivor for bringing down Fenrir. But Odin has been reborn as Eivor and takes on the disguise of Basim.
