Konami’s about to release the first two Metal Gear Solid on PC!

Before the franchise was flown straight into the ground and was robbed off of everything it stood for by its last entry, Metal Gear Solid was a candidate for one of the best video game series of all time.

However, such claims and such titles come from an era when Hideo Kojima worked at Konami and had some actual creative liberation in his work.

Back then, Konami was also focused on releasing actual good games and not “Pachinko Machines.” (SILENT HILLS PT will never be forgotten)

Let’s be real for a second here. For Konami, claiming that “Mobile Games are the future” and then pushing Kojima to the sidelines may have been one of their greatest mistakes.

Even then, they wouldn’t deny that Kojima has delivered some seriously wonderous video games for Konami, through the Metal Gear Franchise.

Metal Gear Solid is a unique, experimental, suspenseful, action-packed, and stealth-filled franchise filled to the brim with fun and enthralling gameplay.

Every installment in the series has tried to do something different from the rest, from Metal Gear Solid showcasing what breaking the 4th wall can be like, to the Phantom Pain, that takes the open-world formula of video games to new heights. The best part is that we, as players, loved every single bit of it!

Except for Metal Gear Survive. We don’t talk about that one.

However, for the longest time, PC players have been unable to experience the earliest titles in the series, namely, Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2. They did come to PC, but have been absent from digital stores for a long time now.

But now, it seems that Konami is seriously looking to fix that, for recent ratings from Taiwan’s Digital Game Rating Committee have revealed that the very first Metal Gear and the first two Metal Gear Solid games will be returning to PC soon!

The games themselves may simply be repackaged versions of the old PC ports coming to the actual release itself. Plus, considering Konami’s lazy attitude toward their games’ porting, it only cements that these games will be the older versions only, with no modifications and improvements.

Apart from these games, other classics such as Konami Collector’s Series: Castlevania and Contra, which bundles Castlevania, Castlevania II Simon’s Quest, Castlevania III Dracula’s Curse, Contra, and Super C, have also been leaked as confirmed releases by the Committee.

As of now, there is no information regarding when these games will release, but one can expect them to come out by the end of this year itself!

Regardless of all the Konami has done to our favorite game franchises, the return of old classics to PC is certainly a welcome change and one that, personally, pleases me a lot!
