A Ton of The Last of Us-related Content Could Roll out This Year

Tom Henderson is back with some exciting news, and it will surely get you off your seat. The ever-reliable leaker believes that oodles of The Last of Us-related content is in the works, and one might be rolled out in 2022 at the very least.

Henderson took to Twitter to reveal that “multiple people” have confirmed that the reported ‘The Last of Us’ Remake is “nearly finished.” He expects it to release in the latter half of 2022. 

Moreover, the leaker further discussed the likelihood of TLOU: Director’s Cut and Factions multiplayer. He reckons that these new content pieces are authentic and in development as well. 

Unfortunately, Henderson does not know when and how they will be released. However, he conjectures that the multiplayer mode will be housed by the Director’s Cut when it launches.

While fans already know that Factions will hit the shelves sooner or later, thanks to an official tweet by Naughty Dog, there’s still a cloud of uncertainty that floats over its release date.

On top of this, TLOU: Director’s Cut is a totally new piece of information that has not received any confirmation from the devs. Henderson even admitted that his take on Factions and Director’s Cut is purely speculative. 

If we take Naughty Dog’s history of flirting with postponements into account, I’d say you read everything with a pinch of salt until you hear something official.

The leaker also believes that The Last of Us TV show played a role behind the development of these titles.

With HBO’s upcoming The Last of Us TV show starring Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie set to air, Henderson feels that these new and revamped titles intend to “drum up the hype” around it.

If true, this is undoubtedly an intelligent business decision. The Witcher 3’s sale and popularity skyrocketed when Netflix broadcasted its TV show. Therefore, there’s a strong possibility that the release of an enhanced and freshly made TLOU aligns with this much-awaited TV show’s launch.
