Leaker Reveals What’s Coming to Every Battlefield 2042 Season

We got a good look at some of the new features in Battlefield 2042. The first-person shooter is shaping up to be a monumental experience, but a lot of it is also predicated on what we can expect from the seasons of the game. Now, a leak has revealed what each season might bring.

Tom Henderson, a credible Battlefield and Call of Duty leaker, put out a tweet that stated the new additions coming with every new season of Battlefield 2042.

Every season, according to him, will add a new specialist, two new maps, two Portal maps, story-driven Hazard update, six to eight new weapons, two to three new vehicles, and 100 season tiers. He also added a GIF of Adam Sandler, which implied that it’s all for free.

Henderson has a good track record when it comes to leaks, but the amount of content being offered at no charge seems a little too good to be true. Most shooters that follow the seasonal process give some content for free and offer additional content as part of a paid component.

Specialists and new characters are usually kept behind a paywall, while guns, maps, and vehicles are free. But if the leak is accurate and everything is free, Battlefield 2042 looks like one of the most appealing shooters of this year, and DICE could enjoy a decent continuous player base with this sort of seasonal offerings.

EA confirmed that the open beta for Battlefield 2042 would launch in September. A Redditor spotted some info about the open beta before it was deleted off the website.

It mentioned that the beta would start on September 6th and go on till September 11th. EA Access and Origin subscribers will get access to the open beta starting September 4th. The info also stated that these subscribers could start pre-loading the data on September 3rd.

About Battlefield 2042

Battlefield 2042 is the seventeenth installment in the Battlefield series developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts. The game is a first-person online multiplayer shooting title. This installment of Battlefield will not feature a single-player campaign mode.

The year is 2042 and the world is in ruins. Natural disasters run rampant, ocean levels have risen, the world economy has collapsed, and the US and Russia are at war. You step into the shoes of a non-patriated soldier – a soldier without a side. The games’ story will be revealed through episodic additions, allowing players to create a future for themselves and other non-pats in a world on the brink of destruction.
