This time the players have found a new way to be the best fisherman in the game without having to worry about reeling every fish with a fishing rod. This new and innovative fishing trap is the best way for your Viking to replenish his health with a nice and tasty seafood platter.
If you have been lurking around the Valheim subreddit for a while, chances are you have already seen the Fish Trap post booming with upvotes. If not, here’s all you need to know about making this incredible design.
1. How to Make the Fish Trap in Valheim?
According to the reddit post by user VincentNacon, players need building find a shallow pool of water where fishes gather, and place a small strip of 1×1 wooden floor pieces stacking them one on top of the other in a staircase like manner. The flooring needs to have walls on both sides.
Next, players need to place another strip of 1×1 floor pieces right next to the walls, but this time the pieces should be leveled to the ground. Then, a couple of wooden gates should be placed on the floor to trap the fish in one region of the floor.
Once the structure is done, try to lure some fishes into the trap by either herding them from one side or just region blocking them in shallow water. You’ll be able to grab the fish once it reaches the most elevated part of the floor.
Just a tip: Remember to turn the snap-on option off from the settings to place the floors better.

Although fishes can swim inside the 1×1 flooring, they narrow region makes it impossible for them to turn around and hence they swim straight. The gates opened at the right time allows the fishes to be pushed further forward into the elevated floors making it super easy for the players to grab the fish.

The best location for setting up this fish trap is the meadows biome. Since the biome has shallow pond like areas and easy enemies, it’s a perfect place for fishing for some good meal.

2. How to Use Cheat Codes in Valheim?
To open console commands, press F5 on keyboard and type the command or cheat to use in the dialogue box. To enable cheats in game, type imacheater and press enter. The same code needs to be typed again to disable cheater mode.
Command- spawn [item] [amount] [level]
Reminder– Cheat mode and using cheat code in console command works for single player and not for multiplayer servers.
