Marvel’s Avengers: First Patch Release Details

Marvel’s Avengers has received its first patch, but all it seems to focus on is improving the game’s stability. Read on to know more!

After a long waiting time and disappointing early access phase, Marvel’s Avengers has finally hit the shelves!

But is it the same problem-ridden game as it has been, or are we going to receive a surprise?

The short answer: Yes, it’s the same.

Marvel’s Avengers is one weird cookie. It has an amazing campaign that screams the atmosphere of an Avenger’s story. The combat is quite solid as well, reminding many of Warframe.

But that’s just where the praise seems to end.

The biggest problem of the game is its repetitiveness. Sure, the game is filled with a ton of content, but its quality is subpar at best.

The variety of enemies, or should I say, damage sponges, is quite lacking. While they are not so interesting either, the missions start repeating themselves only after a few playtime hours.

And even though the game’s looting system is quite good, where you can find items and perks to raise your character’s abilities and stats throughout the missions, the system itself becomes tedious and boring after a while.

Combining all that I’ve mentioned previously results in quite the shallow game that is simply coated with attractive paint to appeal to the players.

But, now that the developers are finally working on bringing the game up to the mark, what is their first move?

They are fixing the game’s stability.

Yes, that’s pretty much it.

Considering how, up until now, almost no bugs, glitches, or performance issues have been reported for the game, it isn’t very clear why the developers want to improve the game’s optimization.

After all, why fix something that is not yet in need of fixing?

Nevertheless, the full patch notes entail as follows:

  • Implemented workaround for the NVIDIA 10-series driver problem that was causing crashes when using ALT-TAB, ALT-ENTER, and other situations.
  • Enabling Steam Cloud to allow you to synchronize your save-games between multiple PCs easily.
  • Fixed a problem that caused some players to be unable to throw rocks as Hulk or to shoot as Iron Man.
  • Fix for a DEVICE_HUNG crash some users experienced in the sewers.
  • Various other stability improvements.

Regardless of this current patch, all we can do is wait and hope that the developers get to work on improving the quality of this game, rather than bringing more and more of repetitive content, as there is a lot of potential here that is pretty much untapped as of yet.
