Microsoft Flight Simulator Gets Two New Location Updates!

The France ad Benelux update has landed in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Just like the previous updates to the UK and Ireland, patch 1.15.7.0 focuses on France, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. It fixes famous landmarks so they look less like generic buildings and more like how they look in real life.

This means that the windmills from Netherlands will look like the old-time wheat grinding and water pumping structures that they are. Also, the Rijksmuseum, Johan Cryuff Arena and Rotterdam The Hague Airport all appear as they should based on satellite imagery.

Belgium now features photo-realistic renditions of the Cathedral of Our Lady, Tournai Cathedral and the Palais de Justice of Brussels. Those flying over Luxembourg can spot both Vianden Castle and d’Coque Centre National Sportif & Culturel.

France got the lion’s share of the attention with this update, with both a whole host of geographic regions being tweaked to look more realistic and a bunch of landmarks receiving touch-ups as well. These include Strasbourg Cathedral, Chateau de Chenonceau, the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, and many others. So, those who have always wanted to visit the land of the French but never gotten the chance to in real life can now do so from the cockpit of their airborne vehicle of choice!

Along with the geographic updates, patch 1.15.7.0 adds a bunch of new stuff as well. The game’s UI has received localization in both Japanese and Dutch, and both the S7 Airbus A320neo and the KLM Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner have had their liveries added to the game.

DevMote also got a massive update with the addition of a brand new airport creation wizard. Documentation has also been included for VR cockpits, liveries, and external installer information.

Bugs are always the first thing that come to mind when it comes to new updates. The last patch helps to reduce the reduction of tree display distances caused by the smaller trees on the map.
