Over the years, the Xbox has distinguished Microsoft as a major player in the gaming sphere. But, the company is also well-known for release accessories to their consoles to enhance the gaming experience.
They have released products like the Xbox Wireless Controller, the Xbox Elite Controller, the Xbox Adaptive Controller, and other accessories like the Xbox Wireless Adapter.
But, surprisingly, the most popular addition it has released has been the Xbox Wireless Headset. And now, it has a new iteration and name as well.
Microsoft is looking to offer different headset accessories for Xbox gamers at different budgets. The Xbox Stereo Headset is set to fit into this lineup as the most affordable option. The Xbox Stereo Headset will go for $59.99 and is available for pre-order with a launch date of September 21st, 2021.
One thing to keep in mind is that it is a wired headset. That would be the most significant difference between this model and the more expensive options, including the Xbox Wireless Headset. If wires aren’t a problem, this headset has a lot to offer.
It features a similar design to the Xbox Wireless Headset with large cushioned earcups and an adjustable headband. It also supports features such as Windows Sonic, Dolby Atmos, and DTS Headphone X software.
It requires a standard 3.5mm headphone jack and, given that it’s wired, does not require batteries. This means it can be plugged into practically anything with a headphone jack for easy use. This would be a great backup to have around if your wireless headset died or if there are some connectivity issues.
This new version will replace Microsoft’s previous version of the same headset, the Xbox One Stereo Headset, which is still available at pretty much the same price point.
While it has not been stated officially by Microsoft, expect to start seeing fewer Xbox One Stereo Headsets in the market as the company will undoubtedly try and phase it out.
Microsoft has two other options to choose from for those who have a little more of a budget.
The Xbox Wireless Headset is a step up in quality and has Bluetooth connectivity for $99.99. And then you have the cream of the crop with the Beoplay Portal, Microsoft’s partnership product with Bang & Olufsen, for $499, which will deliver exceptional audio performance.
