Modern Warfare 2 Players want to Replace Current In-Game Stats Menus

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been around for a while now. While the game is widely popular, it does have a fair share of flaws. Fans have been sincerely giving feedback about what works and what doesn’t, and now they want to bring back something from an older installment.

Reddit user @Foolsbrains69 talked about how good the record system was in Black Ops 1. The user also suggested that Activision should implement the same combat record in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, whose UI is comparatively complex.

Many players seemed to agree with this point of view. Some also brought up the annoying bugs they encountered in the statistics menu. The conclusion is that Modern Warfare 2 doesn’t do a good job in tracking players’ stats and their recent performances.

There are multiple ways of tracking weapon stats using different UI menus. The screenshot above shows kills, deaths, accuracy, and the graph depicts the last five games based on the Kill/Death ratio.

Modern Warfare 2 redirects players to separate stats menus for multiplayer, Warzone, and DMZ. Some fans feel that these UIs are a downgrade from Black Ops 1.

However, actually adding the combat record system from Black Ops 1 could take a while. Unlike Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops 1 did not feature Warzone and DMZ. So, Activision and Infinity Ward would have to model an updated record system keeping these battle modes in mind.

Moreover, Modern Warfare 2 consists of several gameplay options in multiplayer itself. A modernized combat record would not suffice since some additional data would need to be introduced.

Infinity Ward recently released a new patch for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. It includes a handful of new fixes which address known crashes, Ranked Play issues, and some more. However, these are minor issues, and some players might not have even encountered them.

It is very unlikely that Activision will bring the exact combat record system from Black Ops 1. With that said, the current stats menus in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 can use some polishing. Hopefully, players will get that update in the near future.
