The RTX 3060Ti has been out for a while now which was based on Nvidia’s Ampere Architecture. It has 4864 CUDA Cores, a boost clock of 1.67GHz, and 8GB of GDDR6 or GDDR6X memory.
MSI has, however, launched a new custom model based on the 3060Ti GDDR6X memory SKU and dubbed it “SUPER 3X.” The card is based on the RTX 3070 SUPRIM design with the SUPRIM logo visible on the backplate for the 3060Ti as well.
With the similar design, it becomes pretty clear that MSI is clearing their left-over inventory of the TriFrozr SUPRIM cooling solutions and coupling it with the 3060Ti.
The choice of the SKU isn’t surprising. Given its performance-to-price ratio, it is likely to sell in higher volumes than other GPUs. The similar design means the PCB is being reused as well.
It was mentioned on the website that the MSI RTX 3060Ti SUPER 3X offers comparable clock speeds to MSI’s other 3060Ti custom G6X Gaming Trio card.
The 3060Ti Super 3X will give 1854MHz boost clock speeds. This comes atop the GDDR6X memory and comes up to a really impressive figure of 608GB/s when taking the 256-bit memory interface. This puts it on par with the RTX 3070 Ti.
The cooling plate by SUPRIM has a Torx Fan 4.0, combining the fans in twos for effective heat dissipation. It is built atop a nickel-plated copper base plate and copper heat pipe with airflow control.
It also comes with SUPRIM’s Zero FROZR technology wherein the fans stop completely to eliminate any background noise when the GPU temperature is low enough.
As per the standard RTX 3060Ti models, it has 3 Display Ports as well as 1 HDMI port supporting 4K@120Hz. There’s also the Mystic Light as per the standard with most MSI products to control RGB linkage with other RGB devices.
This makes it a lucrative product. However, it looks to be a China-exclusive product. Official shipping details are yet unknown.
