AC Valhalla Gets Sigrblot Festival and New One-Handed Sword

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla received Title Update 1.3.0 on July 29, a significant update that brought new skills and Level Scaling along with several fixes and improvements.

The update also kickstarted a whole new festival – the Sigrblot festival – and added a one-handed sword for players to grab.

Sigrblot is a summer-inspired festival filled with new activities, rewards, and quests. However, it’s important to note that the season will run for a limited time in the game.

Players will get to earn 50 free Opals, which they can use as currency in Reda’s shop. As per Ubisoft’s blog, the three new activities included in the festival are: Test Your Metal, War Games, and Fight or Flyte.

  • Test Your Metal: In this activity, players will get to hone their skills using various weapons in friendly brawls. You can equip armor and rations of your choice to fight alongside your Jomsviking. However, the choice of weaponry is limited to dual daggers, dual shields, and the one-handed sword.
  • War Games: Alwin brings his Orlog set to challenge Eivor during the festivities. So, you better gather your gods for War Games.
  • Fight or Flyte: This activity will throw you into a battle of wits with Ake if you choose Fight. If you choose Flyte, you will get to double your bet with festival tokens.

Those who participate in the Test Your Metal activity will get to exchange festival tokens at Norvid’s shop for the newly introduced one-handed sword.

Sigrblot will be the third festival to arrive in AC Valhalla. The first, Yule, went live in December 2020 and was then followed by the Ostara festival, which dropped in March.

Ostara allowed players to explore an Easter-themed Ravensthorpe settlement complete with egg hunts and seasonal decorations.

However, the festival’s introduction did bring some game-breaking bugs that gave players quite the headache. The bugs even forced Ubisoft to extend the event. Sigrblot has brought its share of bugs too, but thankfully they don’t seem as severe as the ones from Ostara.

Currently, players are reporting two problems: first, players sometimes lose control of Eivor when activating the fishing line from the action wheel during the wolf kill finisher (Three Big Pigs).

Second, players are unable to interact with quest givers if they push them out of position.

For the first issue, players should try loading a previous save file or reloading the game, and for the second, players should exit the zone before returning to reset the quest giver’s position.

The next significant addition to AC Valhalla will be the highly anticipated Siege of Paris DLC, which arrives on August 12. Incidentally, Title Update 1.3.0 also added support for this DLC, so your consoles should be good and ready for the coming release day.
