Foot Tennis, Dodge Ball, and More Revealed in FIFA 22 Volta Trailer

EA’s highly anticipated FIFA 22 is just a few weeks away from launch, and the publisher has been putting out a steady stream of information. We’ve gotten to know some of the new game modes that will be available at launch, and the new trailer has shown fans some of the new features coming to the Volta game mode, which had been introduced in FIFA 20.

Volta had piqued the interest of many players and had a decent amount of hype behind it, but it pretty much fell flat due to a lack of new features and updates. But, just like Career Mode in FIFA 22, EA is looking to give players everything they had been promised this year. Ultimate Team Mode will remain the focus, but new ideas are coming to all the major pillars of FIFA 22.

The first thing shown in the trailer is the Signature Abilities that have been added to the game. One will grant players a massive burst of pace, and another gives them the ability to perform aggressive tackles without fearing a foul.

Next, we saw footage of Disco Lava, Foot Tennis, and Dodge Ball, all of which are coming to FIFA 22 as part of Volta Arcade. Foot Tennis looks like it could be a lot of fun, but we’ll have to wait and see if the novelty fades soon after launch.

Volta Arcade includes eight party games, and more will be added post-launch. Towards the end of the trailer, EA promises fans to deliver new content, gear, and locations for each season of Volta.

FIFA Volta has had a tough time in retaining an active player base over the past year, but we’re hoping these additions bring some variety to the mode. EA had previously stated that some gameplay changes would be coming to Volta, and it seems that this mode should have more lasting power than just a few months after launch.
