New Knights of the Old Republic Game Reportedly in Works, but Not by E.A. Or Bioware

A new Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic game is reportedly in development. However, the original developers BioWare or E.A., are not the ones behind it, according to reports.

Knights of the Old Republic is regarded as one of the best Star Wars games. The two games in the series are beloved by fans for the way they have adapted the source material and combined it with distinctive storylines, character customizations, and impactful choices.

Earlier this month, Lucasfilm Games announced that it would work together with more companies than just E.A. to develop Star Wars games. Since then, rumors have circulated about a new KOTOR game, and now these rumors have been corroborated by multiple authentic sources.

During a new B.O.B. The Podcast episode, Star Wars insider Bespin Bulletin said that a new Knights of the Old Republic game is in development. However, E.A. or BioWare are not developing the game.

“Amongst my digging, I heard there is a Knights of the Old Republic project in development somewhere., I talked to a couple of people, and I also found out that Jason Schreier said that it’s not with E.A., and we’ll ‘never guess’ who the studio is that’s making this game.”

Jason Schreier of Bloomberg took to Twitter to corroborate the same.

Nate Nadja or Shinobi602 of Wushu Studios backed up the entire thing on the Restera message board by saying,

“It’s not as mysterious as you think. It’s just not a household name most people are aware of.”

Bespin Bulletin also said that there are broader plans for the Star Wars game. He said,

“I don’t know if the bounty hunter game is with them or if it’s with Ubisoft. But yeah, E.A. is working on stuff and there’s another unannounced [Star Wars] game at E.A., which I have no idea what it is. I don’t think it’s Battlefront 3.”

Earlier this month, WIRED reported that Ubisoft is working on an open-world game set in the Star Wars universe.

Lucasfilm Games Sizzle

While the report that a new Knights of the Old Republic game is being developed can still be considered a rumor, there seems to be some truth behind it as authentic sources have verified it. All we need is a confirmation from Lucasfilm Games to solidify the whole thing. Till then, fans will have to sit tight.
