NVIDIA AD107-400 GPU Powering GeForce RTX 4060 Has Been Pictured

NVIDIA’s AD107 GPU is the company’s smallest Ada Lovelace GPU, measuring 146mm2. The chip is designed to power entry-level GPUs and the mobile RTX 4060 and RTX 4050 GPUs are already equipped with this chip.

NVIDIA hasn’t yet confirmed which GPU the RTX 4060 is equipped with. Some board partners did receive the card but were reluctant to show it. The card is set to launch in July, but the GPU that will be powering the card has been leaked.

According to a picture from the hardware leaker MEGAsizeGPU, the AD107-400-A1 GPU will be powering the GeForce RTX 4060 non-Ti variant. It’s the smallest NVIDIA Ada Lovelace GPU, and from the picture, we can confirm that the card will feature at least two SK Hynix memory modules.

A couple of AIBs did previously mention that the AD107-400 GPU will be featured in the RTX 4060, but those were just speculations. But this leak confirms the speculations after all, so the AIBs were pretty spot on.

Here’s how the size of the AD107 GPU compares to its predecessors:

  • AD107 “Ada” GPU Die Size = 146mm2 (TBD Billion Transistors @5nm)
  • GA107 “Ampere” GPU Die Size = 200mm2 (8.7 Billion Transistors @8nm)
  • TU117 “Turing” GPU Die Size = 200mm2 (4.7 Billion Transistors @12nm)

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX is set to launch this July at a price of $299, along with the 16GB variant of the RTX 4060 Ti graphics card. The non-Ti variant doesn’t have a specific release date yet and it will not receive a Founder’s Edition variant.
