Frames per second (FPS) is a vital component to consistent gameplay in any shooter, a fact both competitive and casual players can agree on. Call of Duty: Warzone offers a wide range of settings so players can tweak the game and tune their FPS to fit their individual circumstances for better performance.

While the game has received a recent update that allows NVIDIA DLSS to optimize the game’s graphics, some players are also reporting several issues with the feature.

NVIDIA DLSS is a very unique system, which utilizes sampling to upscale the graphics in real-time. This enhances lower resolution images for modern computer monitors. Warzone only recently made DLSS available to users, and despite advertising a higher FPS rate, the game seems to be encountering a unique side-effect.

JGOD, a Call of Duty: Warzone YouTuber, shows in a video that the DLSS feature can lead to the misalignment of the crosshairs. This can lead to inaccurate weapon optics and reduce every weapon’s accuracy due to the visual issue.

DLSS is known for increasing frame rates by interpolating visual data instantly, but the system appears to be having issues at guessing how the Call of Duty optics should line up. This causes the misalignment, resulting in shots landing slightly to the left or right of the crosshairs.

Huge Mistake with New Graphic Settings in Warzone Ruining Aim

While the issue applies to all the optics, the tac laser seems unaffected and can be used as an accurate measurement of the bullet’s trajectory. Warzone loadouts frequently utilize the tac laser to increase hip-fire accuracy, but due to the DLSS bug, it seems to be more accurate than most other sights.

Players will receive a higher FPS with DLSS enabled, but until Raven Software releases a solution for this problem, they may also find their sights inaccurate.

A simple, self-solution would be to practice with the change, as players can understand and manually compensate for where the bullets will go. Warzone snipers do this already for the long-range shots, but DLSS users can adopt the same practice.

The developers, as of now, seem to be unaware of this issue, but JGOD hopes that his videos will spread the message. Warzone‘s Trello board continues to log and track multiple problems, and until a fix is released, it may be best to disable DLSS. Sacrificing a bit of FPS seems like a fair trade-off for accurate optics.
