NVIDIA’s Flagship RTX 3090 Ti Rumored to Have Powerful New Features

The graphics card market has been seeing a lot of new additions being made. The specs of the AMD RX 6600 were recently confirmed, and now we have rumors of NVIDIA’s flagship graphics card boasting some super powerful feature that is sure to catch everyone’s attention.

This rumor comes from Videocardz and states that the GeForce RTX 3090 SUPER will launch the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti. The card is going to be the company’s new flagship and is aimed at enthusiasts. The rumor states that the card will feature an entirely new board design with single-sided memory, new power connectors & a PCIe 5.0 interface.

The name of the new flagship ties in with the speculations of Twitter leaker kopite7kimi, who said they were not sure if the RTX 3090 refresh would bear the SUPER label. NVIDIA is going with the ‘Ti’ series branding for this card.

Most of the specs that have been leaked in previous rumors remain the same except for the board design, which we expect will likely get some significant upgrades.

The RTX 3090 Ti is expected to ship with the full GA102 GPU core with 10752 cores and 24GB of GDDR6X memory. Expect faster-clocked memory, thanks to dies from Micron that will push speeds past 20Gbps. The pricing may remain the same at $1499 US (MSRP), but overall we are looking at a 5% improvement.

An earlier rumor had stated that GeForce RTX 3090 Ti would see a TGP of over 400W. That is 50W more than the standard 3090, so we may be looking at faster clock speeds on the GPU and VRAM.

New rumors have added further information to these previous claims. Now, users should expect a brand new power connector in the MicroFit form factor, unlike the existing connector. The 16-pin connector will be PCIe Gen 5.0 and offer some current stability for the next-gen protocol that is expected to be present on the card.

A significant change coming to the card would be the addition of 2GB GDDR6X memory modules. Clocking in at 21Gbps, they will require more power and will generate higher temperatures. The denser capacity modules may be featured on the front side of the PCB (12 modules in total), which will provide slightly lower PCB and memory temperatures.

The RTX 3090 Ti won’t be the only card getting the higher density modules, as even the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti will get a similar 2GB module treatment.

The RTX 3090 Ti is expected to launch in January along with the RTX 3070 Ti 16GB and RTX 2060 12GB.
