NVIDIA RTX 4080 and 4070 Power Ratings Lowered, RTX 4080 Ti Potentially Leaked

Leakers have been very active in the past few months, considering all the three big tech companies in the gaming industry, AMD, Intel, and NVIDIA, are preparing the launch of their next-gen hardwares.

Kopite7kimi is one such leaker who has recently been busy providing updates regarding NVIDIA’s RTX 40 series. The leaker provided updated specs for RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 this week, and now, he reports yet another change in these SKUs.

The Power requirements of the upcoming GPUs, to be precise, the Total Board Power(TBP) ratings have changed from 420W to 320W for RTX 4080 and from 300W to 285W for RTX 4070.

These reductions in power do not accurately translate to thermal power, but still, this might help the NVIDIA GPUs with thermal efficiency.

Moreover, another leaker KittyYYuko has posted specs of an unnamed SKU. As the name suggests, this particular SKU is based on the PG139 board.

The graphics card featured in this model is AD102-250, which has previously not been featured in any other SKU is supposed to be more powerful than the AD102-300 in RTX 4090.

This is also not the rumored TITAN successor that has been speculated about again and again, as the specifications don’t match. Well, so what exactly is this CPU?

If we forget the AD102 graphics card for a second, the rest of the specifications seem to fit between the RTX 4090 and RTX 4080, indicating that this might actually be the RTX 4080 Ti.

Considering that this SKU is, in fact, the RTX 4080 Ti, it doesn’t make sense for NVIDIA to reveal its name so far before its actual launch, as the RTX 4080 Ti is supposed to arrive next year along with other Ti models. Hence, the possibility is indeed there.

Interestingly, NVIDIA might be venturing previously unscathed waters here with the 20GB memory, as although there were rumors of a 20GB RTX 3080, the SKU never saw the light. It could be the case that NVIDIA dropped that idea only for it to fruiten with the RTX 4080 Ti.

In any case, both these leaks favor NVIDIA fans as not only do they have a new leaked SKU, but the RTX 4080 and 4070 launching in October have also improved power-wise.
