Much like Fortnite and other live-service titles, Overwatch 2 has a daily rotating shop which rotates daily cosmetics in the shop for players to purchase with in-game currency. However, yesterday’s shop didn’t impress a lot of players.
A Reddit post made by u/KirikoOw showcased Overwatch 2’s daily shop rotation for October 11, but it seems like majority of the players weren’t having it as almost all of the replies voiced their frustration with the cosmetics featured in the daily shop.
The shop features an Overwatch 2 skin for Baptiste, Merry Outlaw Ashe Bundle, Kiriko Epic Offer, and the Cyber Detective Sojourn Bundle, which are available at different prices. Out of these, the cheapest option goes to Baptiste’s skin which costs 1,000 Overwatch coins while the most expensive one was the Sojourn Bundle which costs 2,000 coins. All the bundles include weapon charms and various other cosmetic items.
Excluding the Kiriko Bundle, all the other skins showcased in the daily shop share design similarities in hiding their eyes, with Sojourn being the freshest character as he has few existing skins to compare to. With the coins roughly equating to 100 for each dollar spent, Overwatch players purchasing items from the shop on October 11 could be spending $22 for just one of the bundles.
Players in the replies called out Blizzard’s laziness with the cosmetics featured in the shop, with some Angry Joe fans criticizing the 10$ cost of “blue” Baptiste, while other Halo Infinite players debated whether 343 Industries’ microtransactions are better than what Overwatch 2 offered or not.
Not a day goes by without Overwatch 2 being criticized for something, be it a bug or a cosmetic issue, and making the headlines for it. Players weren’t happy with the Overwatch 2 Battle Pass either as it featured a reused asset from the original game.
