Entry Level Intel A380 Graphics Card Performance Has Been Leaked

The GPU shortage has been going on for a while now and has left many PC gamers frustrated at not getting their desired components. So, when it was announced that Intel too was getting into the GPU market, hopes were raised that this would finally be the beginning of the end of the great shortage.

A credible leaker has now uncovered some information regarding one of Intel’s upcoming GPU offerings, and it has us pleasantly surprised.

The leaker, momomo_us, found the listing in the SiSoft Sandra database, indicating the upcoming ARC A380 could be on the same level as the GTX 1650 Super in terms of performance. The A380 is designed to be an entry-level GPU based on the Xe-HPG architecture.

It will ship with 128 Execution Units, a clock of 2.45 GHz, and 4.8 GB of memory. The memory capacity may be a reporting error, typical in pre-released devices.

The aggregated result shows us that the A380 sits just above the GTX 1650 Super and just below the Radeon RX 580 and NVIDIA’s RTX 3050 Ti laptop GPU. Just by these numbers alone, one could dismiss the A380 as not a stellar choice, but we ask you to reserve your judgments until we have some real-world results, an idea of the TDP, and the card’s pricing.

As of writing this, Intel is just hours away from their CES press event, so we should be getting some more information on the upcoming ARC GPU range, such as some real gaming benchmarks, or at least a 3DMark result to better understand the position of the cards in the hierarchy.

Intel is likely to reveal information about more than just the ARC GPU line and will also tell us more about their Alder Lake CPU range for the desktop. The question that needs to be answered is if the laptops equipped with 12th Gen CPUs and ARC GPUs are capable of AAA gaming. We’ll have to wait and see what Team Blue has to offer.
