Phasmophobia, the latest co-op ghost hunting game, has now become one of Twitch’s most-watched games, garnering a weekly average of 80,000 viewers.
It’s always a pleasure to see a video game from the horror genre done right, and Phasmophobia is by no means an exception to this.
Developed by Kinetic Games, Phasmophobia is a co-op ghost hunting experience that lets you and three other players go around hunting a variety of ghosts, ghouls, and demons.
The game currently has more viewers than Call of Duty: Warzone, Among Us, and Genshin Impact, amassing as many viewers as FIFA 21.
Essentially, it’s the new hot thing on Twitch!
But why is it becoming so popular, that too, all of a sudden?
Well, as I mentioned above, it is a horror game done right.
The game is a perfect mix of building atmospheric tension and delivering the best scares that one can get. It drops the players into different locales, ranging from abandoned schools to haunted mansions, equipped with a wide range of ghost hunting tools.
All you have to do is use your EVPs, Spirit Boxes, black lights, and the rest of your arsenal to uncover clues leading up the spirit residing in the area!
With changing locales and changing spirits, the game offers an excellent dynamic complexity that keeps the players engaged and leaves them wanting more!
Oh, and did I mention that it also supports VR? Truly a match made in heaven, or hell, in this case!
However, all this does not hold a candle to the game’s defining feature, using your voice to utilize the in-game tools and pieces of equipment.
By far, this is one of the best features that I’ve personally seen in a horror game. I mean, just imagine, you’re using your voice to communicate with your team and use your tools, and the ghosts are listening as well!
If you haven’t played the game already, just imagine the level of realism and immersion, this will provide! Indeed, it is truly a spectacle to behold!
That said, the game is selling like hotcakes right now, at $13.99, so grab a copy and experience one of the best horror games in years!

In it, you and your team of paranormal investigators are dropped into various locales, tasked with investigating the place, looking for clues and working together to record evidence of the spirit, either a ghost, a ghoul or a demon, to come out victorious!
