Resident Evil Village is due to release next month, and Capcom is looking to release the second demo for the game soon. While the publisher has not yet announced an exact date for when the demo will be available, a recent leak suggests that fans may be getting it sooner rather than later. By next week, in fact.

First spotted by MP1st, a new Resident Evil Village has been uploaded to the PlayStation Store backend. According to currently available information, the demo will have new dashboard music and is around 10GB in size. The demo is also expected to support PlayStation Remote Play functionality, which means PlayStation Vita users can also play it off-screen.

The information being up on the PlayStation Store backend is a good indication that the demo is coming soon, but we don’t have an exact date yet. Capcom has stated that the April Resident Evil showcase will be held on Thursday, April 15th.

As the first demo for resident Evil Village released on the same day as the previous Resident Evil showcase, the chances are good that this next demo will launch on the same day as the upcoming showcase. Even if not, we’re sure we’ll get a date for the demo during the actual showcase.

The new demo is expected to have a number of differences from the PS5 exclusive first demo. The new demo is expected to have gameplay from the final version of the game, while the Maiden demo was an entirely separate work designed to be just a visual showpiece. The new demo is also expected to be available on various platforms, instead of being a PS5 exclusive.

The specific platforms have not yet been named, but it is quite likely that the new Resident Evil Village gameplay demo will be available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox at the very least. The game is also going to be available on Stadia, so there’s a chance users of Google’s cloud streaming gaming platforms may be able to access the demo as well.

Resident Evil Village launches on May 7th for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. If you feel you can’t wait a week, then you can also hop onto the Resident Evil Re:Verse Open Beta right now!
