Player Discovers Hack to Access Modern Warfare 2 Camos

The early access for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 campaign mode is now live for pre-order owners. Although only the single-player content files are now available, it was only a matter of time before some quick-witted data miners would discover the game’s files and code entries for multiplayer and other gameplay modes.

Reddit user @Felx_PePPax discovered a hack to access multiple exclusive weapon camos of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

PC players just need to hit the F6 button and a work-in-progress version of the game’s multiplayer Gunsmith 2.0 interface should pop up, it’s as simple as that. The menu will allow them to browse through weapon attachments, unlockable camos, and more. Console players will need to plug in a keyboard to access this hack.

This preview will allow players to flip through the primary weapons available in the game. There are several unique camos, even some providing customization options. One such category of camos will allow players to paint their guns into all-black or tan color schemes.

This discovery gives us a better idea of how vast Modern Warfare 2’s weaponry will be. The unfinished Gunsmith 2.0 can only allow as much as a sneak peek. Selecting the “Firing Range” option will crash the game.

There were some problems regarding the campaign early access across all platforms; players were either unable to download the build, log into Steam, or access the campaign. Most of these issues have since been resolved. Hopefully, we won’t be facing any such problems at the final launch.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is scheduled to launch on October 28, for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
