Mass-Reporting in New World is Still a Problem, Allows for Easy Wins

One of the significant early points of interest for New World was that it would be a dedicated PvP game with lots of enthralling large-scale wars. The game was then reworked to be more of a traditional MMO, with PvE content for solo players and those who enjoy co-op play.

PvP was no longer the sole focus, but it was still a prominent aspect of the game. But, some players started to use bugs and exploits to play the PvP system and climb their ranks to the top. One of these exploits is still a thorn in many players’ sides.

New World has had a bumpy ride ever since its release, and while Amazon Games Studio is constantly working on updating and patching the game, there is still a lot of work required. One of the issues plaguing the game is the use of mass reporting.

This problem was made apparent during the game’s early days when players would do everything to stay on top of the PvP game and acquire territories by having enemy Companies automatically banned from the game.

Reddit user Jackdarkshade shared a post with a clip attached which showed that reporting many people at once is still being done to make claiming territories easier.

A streamer is shown speaking with other New World players suggesting they mass report a leader of an enemy Company, not worried about if it would result in a temporary or permanent ban, just so it’s easier for their Faction to conquer the areas in question.

Owning a settlement in New World is one of the core mechanics of the game, as it allows players to earn income through tax amounts of their choice from players present in towns.

Currently, it takes just 10-15 reports for New World‘s automated system to ban a player, so mass-reporting someone is very easy if the entire Company is in on it. Doing it purely for PvP makes it even more scummy, as there is no grudge between the players; it is being done purely for benefit, and no one is safe from those using this strategy.

The New World developers took on the Myrkgard run challenge posed by the community, so there is a good chance they have their ears to the ground and are aware of this problem. We are hopeful that the team takes this matter up on priority, as it not only ruins the experience for many players but also outright excludes those who face bans.
