Project Vitriol, a narratively driven RPG by Ex-Witcher 3 devs at Fool’s theory

11 bit studios, the publishers of Frostpunk and This War of Mine announced their upcoming game Project Vitriol developed by Fool’s theory, which was made by devs of The Witcher 3. Project Vitriol stated as their biggest project yet by Fool’s theory has a budget of over $3.8 million which will also allow the game to have full voice-acting and motion capture sessions.

The game will be played from an overhead perspective and will focus on Stealth gameplay, while the story will be dark, Esoteric and for the mature audience.

CEO and Project Lead at Fool’s theory, Jakub Rokosz said

Our game is a deep, morally ambiguous narrative-driven RPG. But let me unveil a bit of the real essence: the game is about the esoteric side of reality, that dark part of the world that most of us don’t see and are not aware of. But the darkness—it is there, lurking behind every corner. It watches us closely from the shadows, and whether we know it or not, takes its toll, making sure we’re going to have a debt to pay.

[Vitriol’s] story begins in a place and time where reality, folklore, energy and mysticism met together in a melting pot: early XX century Warsaw, under imperial Russian tsardom. Global reveal of Project Vitriol coming this summer!

He also promised that a proper reveal of the game is coming in July or August, leaving just a little time for us to wait before more details about the game are unveiled.

Project Vitriol is also 11 bit studio’s biggest project to date, but the studio is also planning other releases like the recently announced ‘The Alters’, and obviously ‘Frostpunk 2’. Fool’s theory also developed Seven: The Days Long Gone which had above-average reviews.

Although neither 11 bit studios nor Fool’s theory have revealed more details about the story and more importantly the game mechanics, we can be sure that much more details will be revealed in the summer.
