Are You Ready for QuakeCon 2021 Next Month?

The dust has finally settled from E3, but another one of the year’s biggest conventions is just around the corner. QuakeCon has finally finalized plans for 2021, and it’s going to be entirely online, just like last year.

Rebranded as ‘QuakeCon at Home,’ the event starts on August 19th and will be a Bethesda platform to showcase some new and exciting content.

Just like every year, QuakeCon 2021 will begin with a kickoff event on the global live stream. The kickoff will be officially aired on Thursday, August 19th, at 11:00 am PR/2:00 pm ET.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any info as to what Bethesda has planned for the kickoff event. Last year, Bethesda showed off games like The Elder Scrolls Online, Fallout 76, Doom Eternal’s DLC, Ghostwire Tokyo, and Deathloop.

Charity was a big part of last year’s QuakeCon, and we expect the same to be the case this year as well. Bethesda takes a lot of pride in raising money for charitable groups, large or small.

This year’s partners include Asian Americans Advancing Justice, the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, the Trevor Project, and UNICEF. The publisher encourages all attendees to contribute as they can.

QuakeCon 2021 will have two t-shirts available as a more local-focused effort, and all profits will go to two local Dallas charities.

The t-shirts feature pet-themed parodies of Bethesda’s games, the first being Pugcubus from Doom Eternal and the second is Catloop from Deathloop.

The two charities the sales of these t-shirts will support are Dallas Pets Alive to encourage adoption and Four Paws, a global animal welfare organization. Both t-shirts will be available for purchase for the price of $25.

Bethesda also asks attendees to participate in a virtual QuakeCon at Home BYOC (“bring your own computer”), as the community can’t BYOC to the actual event.

Players will connect on Twitch with the help of Bethesda’s Twitch team, and those streaming will also have the chance to be featured on the official QuakeCon Twitch Team page.

There’s a lot more we need to learn about QuakeCon 2021, as Bethesda has revealed very little about its multi-day stream event.

We can expect a complete scheduled to be shared soon, and with luck, we may have an in-person QuakeCon to look forward to in 2022.
