Kratos Has Been Making Some Serious Gains in Preparation for Ragnarok!

God of War fans are no strangers to epic fights against foes much larger and stronger than our main man Kratos. So, it’s understandable for one who faces such enemies and was also the literal god of war back in Greece to be pretty ripped. Well, it seems Kratos has been working his body and building it even more in preparation for the events of Ragnarok.

God of War: Ragnarok is still away from release, but fans have been dissecting the latest trailer provided to us by Santa Monica. Everything from Atreus’ hints at living up to the name of Loki to Freya’s newfound ability to fight has been fuel for the rumor mill. Redditor Gaoh_Mukaku has decided to focus on this new look at Kratos and how he has changed from when we saw him last in 2018.

Taking an image from the recent trailer and placing it next to a similar one from 2018’s God of War, we can see some very stark differences. Sure, Kratos is wearing more armor in the Ragnarok version, but we can very clearly see that his chest, traps, and shoulders have gotten quite bigger.

This makes sense, given where the previous game left off and the events we can expect from God of War: Ragnarok.

Kratos has always been shredded, but he was much leaner during his time in Greece. With 2018’s God of War, we saw his transformation into a bit more of a stocky build. Also, provided that he had given up the ways of war before moving to the Scandinavian side of the world, his body may have shrunk a bit.

But given that Ragnarok is upon them, Kratos may be bulking up even more to keep Atreus, his now teenage son, safe. Given that they will be going up against Thor (and maybe Odin too?), who is built like the traditional strongmen of old and is also one of the mightiest Norse gods, Kratos will need all the muscle he can build.

Even though he is bigger now, Kratos doesn’t look unrecognizable or cartoonishly large. We saw him perform some amazing feats of strength in the previous game, so we’re expecting even greater fights in Ragnarok.
